About Removable Dentures
There are several reasons that may cause a patient to lose teeth, such as oral disease, decay, and trauma. At our San Marcos, CA practice, we make both partial and complete custom-made dentures at our in-house laboratory to allow patients a restored, comfortable, and natural-looking smile. Partial dentures are used to replace several missing teeth, while complete dentures replace all teeth on the upper and/or lower arches. Unlike implant dentures, removable dentures can be taken out when needed while still allowing the patient to eat and speak properly. Dr. Jeffrey Allred at Allred Dental works with patients to achieve their desired smile and he creates custom dentures using high-quality materials.
"I had such a wonderful experience at Allred dental. Dr. Allred and his staff are super friendly and attentive they made me feel totally relaxed which is pretty rare for being at a dentist office. I was actually a little nervous going in for my procedure because I was scared it was going to be painful. In the contrary I felt no pain and they were finished before I knew it. It was great!! I would highly recommend Allred dental to anyone needing dental services."- C.C. / Google / Aug 21, 2017
"Very friendly office! It felt like they genuinely care about your teeth and overall health. It felt like a much deeper and better cleaning than some of my past experiences ."- N.S. / Facebook / Oct 05, 2018
"Very caring office. They really care about your oral health and how it affects your overall health. They are very informative. My teeth feel much cleaner than they have ever felt at some of my past dentists offices."- N.S. / Google / Oct 04, 2018
"From the time the receptionist answered the phone to the time I walked out the door, I was treated very professionally from the entire staff at Allred Dental. You can expect a friendly voice from Ellen when you call to make your appointment and when you walk in the door. After a very thorough photo session of my teeth, the dental assistant walked me through a tour of my mouth asking me a lot of questions and telling me what was going on with my teeth. When Dr Allred came in, a thorough recap in her findings was presented to him and me. From there he checked himself, agreed with everything she said and had a couple additional points. Then on to my cleaning which was a breeze. They really take care to insure your comfort. Great dental experience."- A.N. / Yelp / Aug 07, 2018

What to Expect
The procedure for dentures starts with Dr. Allred preparing the patient's mouth, which may include extractions, cleanings, or filing the natural teeth. Then digital x-rays and physical impressions will be taken and sent to our in-house dental laboratory where custom dentures will be created. While they are being made, Dr. Allred will give you temporary dentures to wear. When the permanent dentures are completed, Dr. Allred will adjust as needed to give you your most comfortable and secure fit. You may schedule a follow-up appointment after your dentures are first fitted so Dr. Allred can check the fit of the dentures.
Care instructions for dentures will be provided by Dr. Allred to help you keep your dentures clean and in good condition. Removable dentures can last 2 – 10 years with proper care, including regular dental exams as often as recommended to check the wear of your dentures and the health of your gums and mouth.
Complete and partial dentures are usually covered at least in part by dental insurance. Our office will contact your insurance company to calculate what your insurance will pay and your personal cost. Please talk to our team about what payments are accepted by our office and what financing plans are available.
